生まれてきた子供を見守る、延命地蔵
子供を守ってくれる仏である、地蔵菩薩。地蔵菩薩にも、安産を祈願するもの、亡くなった子供が安らかに成仏することを願うものなど様々で、「延命地蔵」は、生まれてきた幼子が健やかに育つことをお守りするお地蔵さまです。
苔や植物と馴染みやすいお姿で、蓮の下に台石があるので、写真のように土にすこし埋めて据えてください。

御影石では珍しい、黄や赤みがかった錆色が特徴の蛭川錆石。岐阜県中津川市の蛭川のあたりでしか産出されない石です。その石肌が好まれ、建築材や鳥居、彫刻など幅広く使われています。
彫刻を施したのは、茨城県で活躍する、伝統工芸士。石仏や石灯籠の彫刻に長けた地元の職人が、一つ一つ手彫りで仕上げました。真壁石は、コブ出し、ビシャン、小叩きといった、磨かない加工の方が、石本来の魅力がでると言われています。こちらの彫刻品も細やかなビシャンを施し、和風な庭園などに調和しやすい、自然石風に仕上げています。

With a demeanor that harmonizes with moss and plants, and with a pedestal stone under the lotus, it's recommended to partially bury and place it in the earth as shown in the photograph.

Hirugawa Stone is a rare type of granite characterized by its yellow and reddish rust-like coloration, exclusively found in the vicinity of Hirugawa in Nakatsugawa City, Gifu Prefecture. Its textured surface is highly favored and widely used in various applications such as architectural materials, torii gates, and sculptures.
The carving was done by a traditional craftsman based in Ibaraki Prefecture, known for expertise in sculpting stone Buddhas and stone lanterns. Each piece was meticulously hand-carved by local artisans skilled in this craft. It is said that the natural beauty of stone is best revealed through techniques like cobbing, bishan (chiseling), and lightly hammering, rather than polishing. This sculpture, adorned with delicate bishan, is finished in a natural stone style that harmonizes well with Japanese-style gardens and other traditional settings.
