穏やかな印象の、黄竜山石を使用
竜山石は、兵庫県高砂市で産出する凝灰岩です。古代から1700年もの間、同じ場所から産出されるという点において、日本で最も古い歴史を持つ石材です。彫刻にも適した石なので、近畿を中心に、五輪塔や石仏の制作に使われてきました。青、赤、黄色の3種類があります（現在、赤色は採掘不可）。
石仏を得意とする、京都の石工による手彫りの作品
製作を手掛けたのは、京都の京北町で石彫刻を専門としている石工。大型の石仏や、龍の石像などを多く製作している、仏像の彫刻に長けた石工です。自然な風合いを残しつつ、仏様の表情をしっかりと彫刻した、特別な作品です。

Tatsuyama Stone, a tuff extracted in Takasago City, Hyogo Prefecture, holds the title of Japan's oldest stone, continuously mined for over 1700 years. Ideal for carving, it has been widely used in the Kinki region for creating pagodas and stone Buddhas. Available in blue, red (currently unavailable for mining), and yellow varieties.
