由良石（ゆらいし）は、香川県高松市由良町の由良山で採掘されていた黒雲母安山岩です。江戸時代から良質な石材として知られ、加工がしやすく、熱にも強いのが特徴です。
石畳に敷いた際には足への負担が少ないことから高い評価を受け、昭和41年（1966年）には、皇居宮殿東庭（宮殿前広場）の敷石として採用されました。その他にも、全国各地の公共建築や文化施設に使用されていましたが、現在では採石できない貴重な石材です。

Yura stone is a biotite andesite that was mined from Mount Yura in Yura-cho, Takamatsu City, Kagawa Prefecture. It has been known as a high-quality stone material since the Edo period, and is characterized by its ease of processing and heat resistance.
It has been highly praised for its light burden on the feet when laid on stone pavement, and in 1966 it was adopted as the paving stone for the East Garden of the Imperial Palace (Palace Square). It has also been used in public buildings and cultural facilities throughout the country, but it is a precious stone that cannot be quarried today.
