来待石製の道風型灯篭
来待石ならではの自然であたたかみのある風合いで、存在感がありながらも、お庭に自然に調和する立灯篭です。笠は六角形で、台は自然石風になっています。
島根県産凝灰質砂岩、来待石を使用
素材は、島根県産の来待石。灯篭や石仏の彫刻にも多様されている、国産の凝灰質砂岩です。釉薬の原料や、国指定の伝統的工芸品である「出雲石灯篭」の石材として知られています。古くは、古墳時代に石棺や石室の建築に使われたり、鎌倉時代からは石仏や彫刻に使われたりした、歴史ある石です。
来待石は、時間の経過に伴って、表情が変化するのが魅力です。石を切り出した時は、青みを帯びた色をしていますが、次第に水分が抜け、茶褐色の、やわらかな色に変化します。新しい商品でも古色が感じられ、苔が付きやすく、自然のある空間にきれいに溶け込みます。

This standing lantern has a natural and warm texture that is unique to Kimachi stone, and while it has a strong presence, it blends naturally into the garden. The umbrella is hexagonal and the base looks like natural stone.

The material is Kimachi stone from Shimane Prefecture. It is a domestic tuffaceous sandstone that is also used in a variety of ways to carve lanterns and stone Buddha statues. It is known as the raw material for glazes and the stone material for "Izumo stone lanterns," a nationally designated traditional craft. It is a historic stone that was used in the construction of stone coffins and stone chambers in the Kofun period, and in stone Buddha statues and sculptures from the Kamakura period.
The appeal of Kimachi stone is that its appearance changes over time. When the stone is cut, it has a bluish color, but as the moisture gradually evaporates, it changes to a soft brown color. Even new products have a sense of patina, are easy to attract moss, and blend beautifully into natural spaces.
